Countdown of My Favourites

I am new to the blogging world but wanted to share my favourite reads from 2009 with you. These are all books that I read this year, half before I started blogging. I have a varied list but my favourite genre is Suspense.

Blogging has allowed me to meet some great people and I truly appreciate all my followers, the comments and the recommendations, my TBR list is out of hand now, lol. I was so narrow minded before :-0

They are in order of my enjoyment/favourite.

1 - Thriller – Twisted by Andrea Kane

2 - Suspense – The Weight of Silence

3 - Fiction (Alzeimers) – Still Alice by Lisa Genova

4 - Erotica – The Gift of Shame, Sophie Walker

5 - Suspense/Paranormal Romance – The Widow’s Season by Laura Brodie

6 - Thriller – Swimsuit by James Patterson

7 - Fiction (Friends) – Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah

8 - Fiction (Sex Scandal) – Testimony by Anita Shreve

9 - Chick Lit – Secrets of a Shoe Addict by Beth Harbison

10 - Humour – Gods Behaving Badly – Marie Phillips

And My Honourable Mention - Completely out of my comfort zone but I enjoyed it

Memoir – The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls

I look forward to 2010.

  17. Great list ... I'm planning to read "Still Alice" in 2010 so I'm glad to see it on your list. And I loved "Gods Behaving Badly" too. And I'm glad book blogging is pushing you out of your comfort zone ... it did that for me too! "The Glass Castle" was amazing, wasn't it? If you liked that, you might also like "The Liar's Club" by Mary Karr.

    Happy New Year!

  20. Yes, book blogging does make your wish list out of hand, doesn't it? But I wouldn't have it any other way. I'll be reading The Glass Castle and Testimony for sure this year and I'm hoping to fit in The Widow's Season. Great list.

  23. Thanks for visiting my blog! I love the Glass Castle too (read it in 2008 I think) and as you already know I love Still Alice. I also enjoyed Testimony but it just didn't make my favorites since I had others I liked better.

  26. A friend of mine also loved Gods Behaving Badly. It's already on my TBR list but hopefully I can read it soon, or sometime in 2010 at least :)

Yes, book blogs can drastically increase your TBR pile. But you know what else does? Goodreads.com You wanted a way to keep track of what you were reading, I think Goodreads is a great way to do this online. Warning you though, it can be addictive especially if you join groups and read what books everyone is reading :)

  27. Great list. I have to say that I haven't read any of them (I know it's unbelievable), but I've stuck with mostly YA books this year. I have picked up The Weight of Silence so, so many times at the bookstore, but I have yet to buy it. The fact that you enjoyed it enough for it to be in your list of favs for the year, makes me want to read it more.
